Good to know
- Light rain and snow bead up on the nylon instead of soaking through, thanks to a finish with no added PFAS.
- Lots of warmth for 377 g: the 800 cuin down lofts high and keeps warm air around you.
- It packs into its own left pocket: stash it at the bottom of your bag as soon as the sun comes back.
Fabric & feel
Pertex Quantum is a very fine 20-denier recycled nylon ripstop: light and smooth, with a grid that stops a small tear from spreading. Inside, the down regains its loft as soon as you take the jacket out of your bag. The same fabric is used for the lining: it slides over the sleeves underneath without catching.
When to wear it?
In the depths of winter, in cold, dry weather, for walking around town or waiting at the foot of a climbing route. Hiking or travelling, it waits in your bag until the break when you cool down.
Fit & size
The hem drawcord tightens to block cold air, and the elasticated cuffs stay put when you raise your arms. There's still room for a warm layer underneath.
