Hindbag, ethical brand of bags and accessories for women and men

Originally a student project of Pierre Monnier, the brand's founder, this bag and accessories brand began to grow in 2015, when Pierre finished his studies and decided to carry on the Hindbag adventure. The project, born in collaboration with an NGO in India that works to empower the country's women and children, grew and Hindbag began making pouches and tote bags for businesses, then, some time later, the Hindbag bum bag, the collection's flagship product for the general public.

The ecological commitments of Hindbag bags and accessories

This brand of ethical bags for women and men makes its textile accessories through committed, eco-friendly production. The sustainable fashion brand makes its bags and accessories in a GOTS-certified workshop and works with a sustainable material: organic cotton. It reuses its fabric offcuts to make its small accessories, such as its purses or the straps of its Hindbag backpacks.

The eco-friendly brand favours short supply chains, choosing to source its raw materials from a local supplier, again with ethics and ecology in mind. Hindbag bags are mostly shipped to France by boat, a means of transport the accessories brand prefers to air freight, which it aims to cut year on year to limit its ecological impact.

Hindbag's ethical commitments

Hindbag is a project that works for human rights above all. This committed brand of eco-friendly bags and accessories was born in collaboration with the NGO Swami Sivananda Memorial Institute, which works to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged women and children in India. The brand of colourful bags recruits and trains 150 women in sewing in a GOTS-certified workshop, and pays them 3 times the local average wage. Hindbag guarantees their children an education at the NGO's school, from nursery to secondary school. The profits of this social impact brand are reinvested in the education of the 750 schoolchildren, as well as in recruiting and continuously training the seamstresses.
