The brand bases its environmental strategy on five pillars:

Sandqvist's tanneries are rated gold or silver for their environmental work by the Leather Working Group, an international organisation that aims to improve environmental performance in the leather industry.

For several years, the ethical brand has been switching to sea freight, with the goal of no longer needing air freight.

The ethical backpack brand Sandqvist also offers repairs for its products and has set up a take-back and recycling scheme for its bags. This way, the brand takes responsibility for the end of life of its products.

Sandqvist's social commitment includes its Fair Wear Foundation certification, which guarantees that ILO standards on working conditions are respected at all its manufacturing sites.
