What is Ecovero®?

Ecovero® is an eco-friendly material produced by the Austrian company Lenzing®. It is made in a similar way to Tencel, as it is also a man-made chemical fibre produced using wood pulp and solvents. The final fabric is an eco-friendly viscose, strong and breathable, also comparable to silk.

The wood used for ECOVERO® fibres comes from sustainable forests, certified FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or PEFC (Pan European Forest Certification). Lenzing is fully transparent about where the wood it buys comes from.

The process of turning wood into fabric follows strict standards set by the EU Eco Label, to make sure it is truly environmentally friendly. This label is only awarded to products with a low environmental impact across the whole chain: raw materials, manufacturing, distribution and end of life.

The result? ECOVERO® has minimal water consumption and environmental impact compared with traditional viscose, making it just as silky, but more sustainable and eco-friendly. It is very popular with eco-conscious brands such as Armedangels.
