What is polyurethane?

Polyurethane, also called PU or thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), has highly elastic fibres. That's why this material is used to make clothes that offer comfort and freedom of movement.

This material is suitable for making sportswear and swimwear.

The main qualities of polyurethane, comfort and breathability, make it possible to create clothes that adapt to every curve.

Other types of products use polyurethane, such as handbags, offering a vegan alternative to leather.

Polyurethane is derived from plastic and is therefore a synthetic material that is harmful to people and the planet.

Polyurethane at We Dress Fair

At We Dress Fair, polyurethane is accepted for up to 25% of a product's total composition. Our charter had to adapt to technical product types: most sports brands use an elastic material at up to 25%.

We accept a product made with polyurethane using more than 25% of this material if it is recycled.
