What is ramie?

Ramie, or "China grass", is a plant fibre that comes from the nettle family and is an innovation in the textile sector and in responsible fashion. Its properties make it possible to create cool, lightweight clothes that also offer very good thermal insulation.

What are the properties of ramie?

Ramie looks similar to silk, thanks to its smooth fibres. Ramie is extremely soft, yet remains very strong, so it keeps its shape.

Ramie is grown in fairly hot, humid regions, at altitude. Growing it requires no pesticides or chemical fertilisers.
