What is recycled wool?

Recycled wool is made from wool fabrics that were destined to be thrown away. It avoids using up new natural resources while reducing waste. It is biodegradable, temperature-regulating, antibacterial and durable.

What is recycled wool?

Wool is a natural animal fibre, forming the fleece of certain mammals (sheep, goats...). It makes hard-wearing fabrics with very useful properties for textiles, which is why it is a material of choice for our jumpers, gloves...

Recycled wool simply comes from the mechanical recycling of existing wool garments.

Recycled wool: eco-friendly and zero waste

Generally speaking, recycled materials save all the resources needed to make a new material, while avoiding generating waste from fabrics already produced.

This is especially worthwhile for wool, as livestock farming is a significant source of CO2 emissions. So recycled wool is an eco-friendly material by definition, anti-waste and part of a circular approach.

How is wool recycled?

Recycling wool is a process with several steps:

  1. The used wool is sorted by colour
  2. It is shredded
  3. It is blended again to create the desired colours, rather than using dye again.
  4. It is spun again, then woven, to create a new fabric
