What is recycled polyamide?
Recycled polyamide is considered an eco-responsible textile, as it saves the pollution caused by making virgin polyamide, a polluting synthetic material. Wash it in a Guppyfriend.

View allWhat is recycled polyamide?
Polyamide is a petroleum-based material, and there are several types: polyester 6, 6-6, 6-10, 11, 12...
The most common in textiles is polyamide 6-6, also called nylon.
It's used to make tights, lingerie, windbreakers, yoga wear, and also fishing nets and toothbrushes.
Polyamide is blamed for harmful effects on the environment: water and energy use in manufacturing, CO2 emissions, release of plastic microparticles into the oceans when clothes are washed... We explain everything about nylon here.
Recycled polyamide saves the resources and pollution needed to produce a virgin material, while reducing waste.
As explained above, the polyamide we talk about in textiles is nylon. So it makes more sense to refer to the recycled nylon page, which details the different types of recycled nylon, their impacts and their use in responsible fashion. We explain everything about recycled nylon here.
Recycled polyamide, not without a Guppy Friend
Just like with recycled nylon, the Guppy Friend is a must for washing your recycled clothes, so the plastic microparticles they shed don't end up in the environment.
