What is recycled tyre?
A tyre left in nature barely degrades (100 years), or doesn't degrade at all, depending on the source. Yet 1.2 billion are produced worldwide every year, more than 38 tyres per second*.
The need to recycle or reuse old tyres is obvious, all the more so as it is a very hard-wearing material.
One responsible fashion brand in particular, OTH, decided to tackle this problem. It makes trainers whose soles are cut from unique used tyres. It also uses recycled rubber and natural rubber.
